Joe Root was thrilled to play his part in Friday night's dramatic one-day victory over India in Rajkot.

Root, making his ODI debut just weeks after winning his first Test and T20 caps, made an impression with ball rather than bat, sending down nine tidy overs as England won by nine runs.

The 22 year old said he has been working hard on his bowling and hoped it would earn him future caps.
