Samit Patel insists England can battle their way back into the first Test despite losing three quick wickets at the end of day two.

After India declared on 521 for eight in Ahmedabad, England lost debutant Nick Compton, nightwatchman James Anderson and Jonathan Trott in quick succession.

The triple setback aside, Patel is confident England can recover on day three.
