Andrew Strauss said he was proud of his achievements in an England shirt following his decision to retire from cricket.

The former captain, who played 100 Tests, 50 of them as skipper, said winning the Ashes Down Under was the highlight of his illustrious career.

Strauss insusted that now was the right time to bow out, adding that Alastair Cook is the man to take England forward.
