What is ECBtv
ECBtv is the official broadband channel of the England and Wales Cricket Board - a new addition to its successful www.ecb.co.uk website for the 2006 season
What is there to watch on ECBtv?
ECBtv is a must for all cricket fans, showing npower Test and NatWest one-day international matches live to certain territories - plus match highlights, exclusive interviews with England players, press conferences, coaching master classes and many other features to a global audience (excluding North America and the Caribbean - see below).
The ECBtv console will stream live video coverage of all home npower Test matches and NatWest one-day internationals to identified territories (in Europe, South and Central America, Japan and parts of Africa) which are not covered by current ECB television deals.
Can I watch the live stream?
The live stream is available in certain geographical locations only, see below for restricted countries. Please note that these countries are unable to view the live stream:

What quality is the live stream?
The live stream is offered at two speeds, 300kbps and 650kbps
Highlights Availability
There will be a one minute post session roundup after each session and a ten minute daily roundup. The daily roundup is available from 6am the following day until 1030am. All daily roundups will be back on ECBtv from 48 hours after the end of each match. (Please note: these highlight packages are not available in North America and the Caribbean, as rights reside with ECB's broadcast partner Echostar.)

- Your user name and password user accounts on ECB.co.uk will not work on ECBtv.co.uk. It will be necessary for a new user to register on the ECBtv site - Please note user accounts for ECBtv are different from site membership of ecb.co.uk - so you will need to register as an ECBtv member
- The ECBtv console will stream live video coverage of all home npower Test matches and NatWest one-day internationals to identified territories (in Europe, South and Central America, Japan and Africa) which are not covered by current ECB television deals.
Please note that as Windows Media Player is required to watch the content, it is not possible to watch the live stream or highlights using a MAC

- Recommended Software and Browser Plug-Ins
- Internet Explorer - Please make sure you are using the latest version of Internet Explorer 6, as this will allow the best experience of ECBtv.

Download the latest version of Windows Media Player from click here - Video Codecs - If you're having problems viewing video you may need to download and install the necessary codecs (compression software) on top of your Windows Media Player.

- Internet Explorer - Please make sure you are using the latest version of Internet Explorer 6, as this will allow the best experience of ECBtv.
- Firewall Settings
- If you have a Firewall (security hardware/software) or any other related security software running on your PC it may affect your access to the site. You should consult the manufacturer's manual or contact them directly regarding the package/hardware configuration.
- Improving Stream Quality
- Playing the correct Stream:
The quality of stream largely depends on the connection speed you receive from your Internet Service Provider. We provide stream on two different quality options. Please choose the option that matches your connection. Please do not choose a stream quality higher than your connection. Stream are offered at 300kbps and 650kbps, to test your current connection speed please click here. - Ensure Player is set correctly:
a. Open Windows Media Player and choose the 'Tools' Menu or click the arrow in the top right hand corner to see this option
b. Select 'Options'.
c. Choose the 'Performance' Tab.
d. Ensure 'Detect Connection Speed' is set..
e. Ensure 'Use Default Buffering' is set.
f. Click 'OK'. - Reconfigure Player to TCP Streaming.
a. Open Windows Media Player and choose the 'Tools' Menu. (if you have WMP 10 you may need to click the arrow in the top right hand corner to see this option)
b. Select 'Options'.
c. Choose the 'Network' Tab.
d. Remove the ticks from 'Multicast', 'UDP' and 'HTTP'. Only 'TCP' should be ticked.
e. Hit 'OK'. - Limitations of broadband, Please remember that broadband connections are shared by location. This is due to what is known as the "contention ratio". If many people in your area also have the same product then you may be sharing the same connection with them. For these reasons it may be necessary to sometimes attempt to view clips at a lower quality to you would like.
- Save bandwidth, other programs and windows you have open will sap bandwidth from the stream
a. Close as many other Internet windows or 'peer to peer' programs as possible.
b. Close as many applications in your service tray (bottom right corner of screen) as possible to conserve RAM.
