Ricky Ponting admits Australia must raise their game when they meet England Lions at Worcester on Wednesday.

Although happy with the draw against Sussex, Ponting knows a Lions squad featuring the likes of Ian Bell, Steve Harmison and Graham Onions present a sterner examination.

Ponting also spoke glowingly of Michael Vaughan who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Tuesday.
