A sensational innings from Andrew Strauss (106) and contributions from Vaughan and Pietersen helped England to a superb victory in the 2nd npower Test.

At one stage, New Zealand led by 260 runs with 8 second innings wickets still standing, but England managed to turn the match around and show true character.

Panesar was man of the match for his Test-best spell of 6-37, but it was Strauss who took the plaudits for his controlled innings which steered England home.
