Andrew Gale hit an unbeaten 63 to help England Lions gain the upper hand against Bangladesh on day one at Derby.

After Bangladesh were bowled out for 220, Gale put on fifty partnerships with Alastair Cook and James Taylor to bring the Lions within touching distance.

Gale spoke to ECBtv after play and hoped his side could march past the Bangladesh total and look for an early finish.
