The England women and academy squads left their pads and gloves behind to climb ropes and ladders at a team building event in Berkshire.

Captain Charlotte Edwards and Laura Marsh defied their fear of heights by launching themselves off a 30ft high platform while Nicky Shaw, Lydia Greenway and Salliann Briggs bravely clambered up 'Jacob's Ladder'.

There were four nerve jangling tasks in total - coach Mark Lane's side came out on top - and all of the exercises were designed to challenge the players and strengthen team spirit.
